Gaitscan
The Gaitscan system analyses how your feet are affecting your body and whether we need to give them some extra support in the form of custom made orthotics. The Gaitscan sensor pad may look like one in your local shoe store, but is 10 times more powerful and sensitive, giving much more detailed and useful information. The feedback from this helps to identify what parts of your body are being stressed more than others. From there, we then can know whether orthotics will be a useful tool to assist you health. Other options may also be discussed, as sometimes other forms of help are more useful, such as lifestyle changes or other treatment options. The intention is to not just treat one factor in your life, but to look at the whole person and see what are the best options for you.
What to expect?
In an appointment, you can expect a thorough check of your biomechanics (i.e. posture) with a visual assessment as you standing still and while walking, followed by a scan across the Gaitscan sensor pad.
We will then discuss the best options going forward to improve your health and reduce pain experiences.
